David Villa has become one of the most-wanted strikers in Europe following his goalscoring exploits for Spain at Euro 2008 and he would consider a move if Valencia agree.

Chelsea, Tottenham, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all thought to be considering bids and with Valencia rumoured to be keen to raise funds to rebuild their squad, it could be possible that the Primera Liga club would be willing to listen to offers.

Villa, who is valued at around £25 million, has previously insisted that he does not have a desire to leave Valencia, however he has now suggested he could evaluate all options.

"If Valencia told me they were going to sell me then I would address my options," Villa said.

Podolski says Juve want him

Lukas Podolski told reporters he could join Juventus this summer.

"I've been told Juve are interested in me," the Bayern Munich player told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Although I haven't personally spoken to anybody from the club, let us just say some information has come through to me."

It is no surprise Podolski is looking for a move elsewhere after the 23-year-old spent much of the past season on the bench at Bayern.

"Recently I had been playing a little more and trained very hard to be ready for Euro 2008. There is more faith in me within the national side," he said.

The reason Podolski has been shelved is the arrival of Luca Toni, who banged in almost 40 goals for Bayern.

Mertesacker extends Werder deal

Per Mertesacker has prolonged his contract with Werder Bremen until 2012. The 23-year-old underlined his commitment to the Bundesliga club by signing the paperwork while on duty with Germany at Euro 2008.

"Werder want to achieve big things with me and I want to achieve them with Werder, so the situation is ideal," the central defender said.

Mertesacker was persuaded to commit his future to Bremen following talks with the club's director of sport Klaus Allofs.

Kolodin's red card escape

Denis Kolodin was a relieved man when the referee changed his mind after showing him a red card on Saturday, enabling Russia's 11 men to overpower Netherlands in their Euro 2008 quarter-final.

Slovakian referee Lubos Michel rescinded a second booking for the defender in stoppage time after a linesman told the official the ball had gone out of play before Kolodin tangled with Wesley Sneijder.

Despite it being rare for a referee to go back on a red-card decision, Kolodin said it had happened to him before.

"It is the second time this has happened to me," he said, although he could not remember when.

Kolodin's relief at staying on the pitch was marred by the fact he will still miss the semi-final because he was already on a yellow card from the previous game.

Schweinsteiger mulls move

Bastian Schweinsteiger could leave Bayern Munich after the Euro 2008 is over to join a club in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old winger is approaching the final year of his contract at the Bundesliga champions and although new coach Juergen Klinsmann is keen to keep him in his squad, a move to England could be on the cards.

"I may stay with Bayern and the coach has promised to be supportive of whatever decision I make," Schweinsteger was quoted as saying.

"England does have a good appeal as it is one of the world's best leagues. I've always wanted to play there and we'll see if it happens this year."

Milan or Barca for Adebayor

Arsenal look to have given up hope of holding on to Emmanuel Adebayor who wants to join Milan in a transfer worth an estimated £25 million.

Several newspapers in Italy, England and Spain are saying the Togo striker is set to move as the 24-year-old appears to have been given the go-ahead from Arsene Wenger to leave.

His wage demands allegedly prompted Arsenal's decision, as he requested £80,000 a week to stay at the Emirates.

Adebayor's destination, however, is still up in the air as Barcelona have already flown in director Marc Ingla on Friday to hold negotiations and make a £22m offer.

The rapport between Arsenal and Milan is not good after Mathieu Flamini turned down a contract renewal to complete a free transfer to the San Siro giants last month.

Wolfsburg now targeting Hleb

Wolfsburg could be the next destination for Alexander Hleb, the unsettled Arsenal midfielder who wants to leave the Gunners. Barcelona and Bayern Munich are believed to be leading the race to sign the Belarus international.

But now, Hleb's former coach from his Stuttgart days Felix Magath wants to make him his third big-name signing this summer after acquiring Cristian Zaccardo and Andrea Barzagli from Palermo.

"Hleb is a very interesting player," Magath told reporters.

"He came to me at Stuttgart and became a regular first-team player there."

Wolfsburg are backed by automobile manufacturers Volkswagen. Magath is keen on building a strong squad for next season after leading the club into the UEFA Cup in his first year in charge.
