Getafe president Angel Torres has hinted that club coach Michael Laudrup may take charge of Barcelona next season.

Getafe's last two coaches Quique Sanchez Flores and Bernd Schuster left for Valencia and Real Madrid.

"It's a shame he (Laudrup) is going to leave us," Torres said.

"We've now supplied coaches for the three big clubs, Valencia, Real Madrid and Barcelona, so we'll have to move on to Atletico Madrid next."

Henry linked with Chelsea move

Thierry Henry is being mentioned with a return to London this summer by joining Chelsea. The Daily Express claimed that the former Arsenal striker will be allowed to leave Barcelona after just one disappointing season at the Nou Camp. And the paper said that his favoured destination would be Stamford Bridge, home of the Gunners' bitter capital rivals.

Henry joined Barca last year for £16 million but failed to find top form as Frank Rijkaard's side have endured a frustrating season.

It seems Barca are willing to let him leave at the right price. Linking up with French international team-mate Nicolas Anelka is reportedly a lure for the 30-year-old Henry.

Blackwell secures Sheffield Utd deal

Sheffield United have agreed a three-year contract with manager Kevin Blackwell to secure his services on a permanent basis. Blackwell succeeded Bryan Robson in mid-February and took charge on a short-term deal.

But the former Leeds manager has been rewarded for leading the club to within two points of securing a Championship play-off place.

"I am very proud to take up this appointment," said Blackwell.

"The club is very close to my heart and I'm delighted to be given the opportunity of delivering the ambitions of the chairman, the board and the wonderful fans of this club."

Sheffield United travel to Southampton today in their final game of the season, and could still earn a place in the play-offs if other results go their way.

Dublin to bid farewell at 39

Dion Dublin will play his final game in professional football this afternoon when turning out for Norwich against Sheffield Wednesday to end a playing career spanning over 22 years.

After receiving a hero's welcome in his last appearance at Carrow Road last week, the former England striker, now 39, expects emotions to be running high.

He said: "I don't know if there will be tears. I had to hold them back last week but if they appear they're there for a reason.

"There will be sadness at not stepping over the white line again because that's all I know.

"But my body needs to rest and I need to go back home. I have lived apart from my wife and kids for the last two years and that has to stop."

Influential Kaka in Time magazine list

Kaka has been named among Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. The Milan attacking midfielder is the only footballer in the list and was included under the category 'Heroes and Pioneers' along with the likes of Andre Agassi, Lance Armstrong and Oscar Pistorius.

Kaka said: "When I heard the news I was really moved, because this is a wonderful moment. I consider it a great satisfaction. To be among the 100 most influential people in the world is a remarkable privilege."

Vieri out all season

Christian Vieri is set to miss the rest of the season after pulling a thigh muscle when he blasted over a penalty in Fiorentina's UEFA Cup semi-final shoot-out defeat by Rangers on Thursday.

A club statement said he would be out for three or four weeks. Vieri, 34, is expected to leave the Florence club in the close season.

Vieri's missed spot-kick rounded off a dire evening for the former Inter striker, who spurned a series of chances to sink Rangers, including a golden opportunity just seconds after replacing Giampaolo Pazzini as a second-half substitute.

Vieri is set to undergo tests to determine the damage done to the muscles in his leg.
