Five football fans were suspended from attending games at sports venues for four months following incidents at the National Stadium at Ta’ Qali during the Valletta-Hibernians match on June 26.

Four of them were also fined €90 each, while the fifth, a minor, was given a two-year-conditional discharge.

The fans who were fined are Arist Cordina, 28, of Valletta, Colin Ellul, 27, of Ghaxaq, Kimberly McKay, 20, of Sta Lucija and Carol Lee Cumbo,19, also of Sta Lucija.

All pleaded guilty to disobeying police orders.

Mr Cordina and the minor also pleaded guilty to invading the pitch.

Mr Ellul, Ms McKay, Ms Cumbo and the 15-year-old also pleaded guilty to swearing in public and breaching the peace.

The 15-year-old was further charged with forming part of a gang with the intention of committing a crime.
