The Sarisan Folk Group from Slovakia emerged as winner of the 6th edition of the Malta International Folk Festival, followed by the Bitite Folk Group from Latvia and Archbishop Makarios Cultural Group from Cyprus.

The judging panel voted from among more than 400 delegates from Cyprus, Sicily, Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Latvia, Argentina and Slovakia who travelled to Malta to compete in the annual festival organised by M and E Management Group.

Italian brass band and majorettes Banda Filarmonica La Samba received a special prize for their musical performances throughout the festival.
