As from this year, the FOI has steered away from the format of an annual review published over the years, which would present a detailed report of practically all FOI meetings and activities held throughout the review period.

This year's FOI Annual Review has now been revamped into a concise, more attractive and issue-based document.

In this edition, the FOI presents a snapshot of what happened in the local economy over the review period, with an insert focused on the FOI Industry Survey presenting a brief overview on the trends registered in 2005.

The federation delicates two separate sections to its views on the importance of an industrial policy for Malta, as well as social dialogue. Other sections are focused on the FOI's involvement on the international scene, an overview of the main developments at the Malta Business Bureau (MBB) - the representative office in Brussels of the FOI, the Chamber of Commerce and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.

The federation dedicates three pages of this brief publication to outlining the major initiatives it proactively introduced and implemented throughout the year under review. These include initiatives that are related to education; EU-funded projects; competitiveness; and information for FOI members.
