FOI president Martin Galea welcomed Michael Bonello, governor of the Central Bank of Malta, and Alfred Demarco, deputy general manager of the CBM Economics Division, to the FOI premises last Tuesday.

The meeting's main purpose was to discuss the current status of the Maltese economy and Malta-based manufacturing and services operators. During the meeting there was an exchange of views on the situation of the Malta Council of Economic and Social Development (MCESD), the introduction of the euro, as well as on other industry-related aspects.

For this event, the FOI president was accompanied by director general Wilfred Kenely, and vice-presidents Ian Mizzi and Anton Borg.
