The news of Bin Laden's death overshadowed most of this week's happenings, and the conspiracy theories that ensued were so much fun to ponder on. As much as I would like to lay it to rest, too many things still boggle me about Bin Laden's death. For starters I don't get how it took a whole decade for US forces to find one man. Then, once they found him and killed him in a James Bond fashion, they go on to respect his religion – the same religion in the name of which, the same man had killed thousands of Americans! My other Bin Laden boggler is this - how can Navy SEALs fly into a wall? These guys are so discriminately selected, and so well trained that they are practically human superheroes with superhero powers, and yet, they had to destroy their own helicopter after 'it developed a fault.' Seriously?

Speaking of flying into walls, have you noticed the new anti divorce billboards that are sprouting all over the place? The latest ones insist on the use of pink – confusingly similar to the YES campaign - and say "Divorzju bla raguni? Le Grazzi"

Who believes this stuff anyways? Why would a couple live separately for four years for no reason? Just for kicks perhaps?

Such deceitful tactics have me even more convinced that the No movement haven't got a foot to stand on. Unfortunately however, the YES movement has the Church and the fear of damnation against it. The only good thing that has resulted out of all this silly banter is a new movement called Moviment Tindahalx which started off as a tongue in cheek Facebook comment by The Malta Independent's Josanne Cassar.

A couple of days ago Josanne's Facebook status read: "Let me worry about my soul, you worry about yours" (f'isem il-Moviment Tindahalx). Within minutes the status was being copied and reposted by hundreds, and soon enough a Facebook group was created which has now reached almost 2000 members (that's in less than 48 hours).

Clearly people are up to their nostrils with the moral high ground that the Church and the No Movement are taking. Malcolm Tortell's blog explains it perfectly ".... just like abusive parents, the Church will tell you that they are doing this "for your own good". They claim the moral high ground while happily ignoring their own transgressions and acting out of self-righteousness."

But it has to be said, the best thing about this week's happenings was that the sickening Spring Hunting Season finally came to an end. What a relief to know that birds are now free to fly the skies freely.

"Let me fly in the sky.... or into walls" (F'isem il-Moviment Tindahalx)
