I am continuously being pleasantly surprised by the profusion of flowers and greenery as I drive not only in the harbour area but in the countryside as well.
Well done to all who had anything to do with this huge improvement on previous years. It is an unbelievable sight in this summer heat.
Congratulations also to whoever decided to allow il-lellux to produce the millions of beautiful wild yellow flowers all along our country roads right through March, April and into May.
I cannot however understand why the unsightly weed growing straight up a metre tall and more all over the island has been allowed to grow unchecked.
It is a very hardy weed growing in any tiny crack on the side of the road.
San Gwann industrial estate is overrun by the weed and looks very untidy. What will it look like next year?
This is an ugly blot in an otherwise excellent result.
