I refer to the column Shadows from the Past 440 (The Times, November 14), compiled by Carmel Baldacchino, which makes very interesting reading.
As a Florianite I appreciate the fact that he highlighted Floriana's uncommon feat of winning four leagues in a row, a record which is almost 50 years old and yet it had not been equalled, let alone surpassed.
In his contribution, Mr Baldacchino stated that "Floriana have accomplished many a feat, such as winning the championship three times in succession 1909-13...", but he failed to mention that in winning those three championships, Floriana not only achieved maximum points but did not concede any goals, which is also another record which has not been equalled.
