The road leading to the police headquarters in Floriana, which was closed after part of a bastion collapsed late last week, was expected to open again this morning, a spokesman for the Malta Transport Authority said.

Dozens of heavy stone blocks that formed part of the bastion fell onto the busy Notre Dame Gate Street at about 10 a.m. last Thursday. The wall borders Argotti Gardens and was understood to have collapsed as a result of heavy rain that same morning.
