Floriana scored two goals in the final 12 minutes to claim a 3-3 draw against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League first qualifying round return leg at the Hibs Stadium.

Despite the Greens valiant efforts it was Red Star who reached the second qualifying round after completing a 6-3 aggregate win.

Red Star took the lead on 13 minutes.

Dusan Andjelkovic picked Richmond Boakye and the former Juventus striker sent a dipping header past the diving Matthew Grech.

Floriana equalised in first half stoppage time. Juninho Cabral sped into the area and was upended Damien Le Tallec with the referee pointing to the spot.

Steve Pisani sent Manojlovic the wrong way to restore equilibrium at the break.

The Serbians stepped up their game after the interval and on 70 minutes Andjelkovic picked Srnic at the far post. The Red Star midfielder nodded the ball towards Boakye who fired home.

Red Star sealed their win 14 minutes from time when this time Boakye turned provider when he played in Nenad Milijas and the substitute slid the ball past Grech.

Floriana refused to throw in the towel and two minutes later they pulled a goal back when Fontanella fed Vella who hit past Manojlovic.

Red Star were reduced to ten men when Marko Gobeljic was shown a straight red card for a tackle from behind on Vella.

Floriana were now in ascendancy and seven minutes from time Varela pulled Floriana level when he headed the ball into the net following a Vella delivery.

But the Argentine striker marred his performance when during his celebration he made rude gestures towards the Red Star bench and was dismissed.
