Birdlife Malta this evening released a juvenile flamingo at the Għadira nature reserve after it landed in the garden of a Birżebbuġa house.

The protected bird was likely separated from the rest of the flock as it was too weak to continue its journey.

The flamingo will join another saved from Paradise Bay last week and it is hoped it will recover in the safety of the reserve. The bird will be ringed to enable its monitoring.
