The Federation for Hunting & Conservation – Malta (FKNK) has called on all groups representing a minority position when compared to the rest of Maltese society to  in its stand against the 'anti-democratic and abolitionist act' of the Coalition against spring hunting  (CASH) which is leading the campaign for an abrogative referendum.

"Together with the FKNK, such organisations will thus be in a better position to prevent the coalition, or any other organisation or individual, from ever abolishing the legitimate interest of any organisation that is in a minority position when compared to the rest of the Maltese society," the federation said.

The federation said very individual Maltese and Gozitan citizen of such minorities’ organisations should sign its petition to amend the Referenda Act.

"While democracy demands that the majority should govern, this same majority should always respect and safeguard all minorities’ interests, the federation said.
