As part of the Famalco Group’s Growth Plan 2014, Focused Knowledge Ltd (FKL) are currently working on a rebranding excercise, focusing on revolutionising a number of already-existing logos, as well as creating new ones from scratch.

The creative and communications agency within Famalco Group is comprised of a team of skilled professionals, responsible for providing creative solutions in advertising, digital, publications, marketing, PR and social media.

Some of the -reated logos include ones for Fleetlease Ltd, Fleet Finance Ltd, and Flawless Foods Ltd. FKL Ltd and Fritz Energy Ltd got a complete makeover by being rebranded to FKL and Fritz Energy & Engineering Ltd respectively.

Creating logos includes several critical steps: the first step revolves around client discovery; the briefing stage, what the client needs, and who the target audience is.

The second stop is about industry discovery. Ultimately, the logo must reflect what products or services the company offers. Next comes the sketching and brainstorming process. As ideas are created according to the brief, meetings are held to discuss the initial concepts.

This is followed by the draft design process, where sketches are further developed based on the suggestions.

At this stage, choosing the right typography and colour palette for the logo come into play, in order to represent the business in the best possible way. The client is then presented with several options and eventually makes a choice.

The final step is that of refinement and identity development, where the marketing team investigates how and where a logo can be applied, as different mediums require different solutions.

The marketing team within FKL has created over 20 logos for this rebranding exercise to date, with more in the pipeline.
