Four men and a woman are expected to be charged with heroin possession and trafficking after a tip-off led the police to a drug deal.
The five people, aged between 19 and 39 years, were arrested on Thursday afternoon when the police said they were informed that heroin was being trafficked in a Żabbar residence.
Drug squad police found a 37-year-old man in possession of heroin-filled packets that looked ready to be sold.
Inside the residence, the police said they discovered items linked to drug trafficking.
The police later made four other arrests in connection with the same drug find.
A 22-year-old woman, who lived with the 37-year-old, was among those arrested.
Police investigations continue.
