Soldiers arrested five men on suspicion of being in possession of drugs during vehicle checkpoints on Sunday- Monday night, the AFM said this morning.

The check-points were performed by the C (Special Duties) Company soldiers. A 24-year-old was found in possession of four sachets of suspected cocaine and six ecstasy pills. Three men, aged between 20 and 25 years, were also found in possession of with a sachet of suspected cocaine, whilst a 23-year-old was found with a sachet of suspected cocaine and two cannabis joints.

The soldiers also found a man driving without a licence and insurance cover.

All individuals were handed over to the police for further investigations.
