Five bids have been submitted for the development and operation of a yacht marina at Sa' Maison after a request for proposals issued by Transport Malta.

The bids were submitted by Marina di Valletta Consortium, Valletta Marina Consortium, CGS Consortium, Harbour Management Ltd and Valletta Marina Consortium

Transport Malta said it has initiated the evaluation process so that the preferred bidder may selected within the shortest possible time.

The new marina will be set up in the area currently occupied by the Gozo ferry. It will be an all-weather marina, with a minimum of 240 berths and complementary shore side facilities at Sa Maison.

The concession shall be for 25 years.

The investment will include the upgrading of the adjacent area which will remain accessible at all times, pontoons / mooring systems to accommodate the maximum number of yachts, the development of weather protection measures, adequate land facilities for berth holders, electrical shore power and water supply, landscaping and other ancillary facilities and services.

In agreement with AFM, the gate for AFM base will be moved inward to create an additional area available for the development.

Gozo Channel operations shall be relocated to an alternative site.
