Works on the Kappara traffic junction are moving at a steady pace, with the focus being on the slip roads on the east side of the project, Transport Malta said in a project update.

One slip road will take traffic coming from St Julian to Sliema Road (Gzira). Another will take traffic from Sliema Road towards the skate park (Tal-Qroqq)

Most of the crash barriers are already in place and workers are carrying out some minor works before laying the first layer of asphalt.

As part of the project, the existing roundabout will be lowered and two flyover lanes will be built across, taking traffic from one side of Regional Road to the other. Some of the pillars for the flyover lanes have already been built.
