The media chosen by the artist include oils, soft pastels, charcoal and acrylics. Born in 1956, Briffa Bell picked up art lessons at the age of 50 after bringing up her three children. She first took art lessons at the Malta Society of Arts for four years, after which she moved to the Malta School of Art, where she obtained a diploma in fine arts and art history.

Briffa Bell has taken part in several collective exhibitions with Art Club 2000 and also volunteered in a project to paint murals in the children oncology Department of Mater Dei Hospital.

Art and soul is Maria Briffa Bell’s first solo exhibition. It is open to the public at the Żabbar Sanctuary Museum until April 28 from 9am to noon.
