An elderly Italian woman who fainted while visiting Jokers in Bay Street yesterday got immediate help since the establishment has a first aider on the premises throughout opening hours.

The incident happened at about 3 p.m. when the woman fell unconscious .

Company director Ivan Camilleri, who noted readers' calls on timesofmalta.com for the presence of first aiders (with regard to a drowning in a hotel pool yesterday), said the first aider had been praised by the ambulance team for the immediate intervention.

He said the staff also helped calm down and reassure two young children who were with the woman.
