A Portomaso-based firm, Panlegis (Malta) Ltd, has filed judicial protests against seven former employees who, it is alleged, abandoned their employment in order to take up employment with a competitor in breach of contractual and confidentiality undertakings.

The employees had suddenly left their employment with the company and had commenced work with Panlegis' competitor Verdun Corporate Services Ltd. Panlegis claimed that these facts indicated a concerted plan to benefit Verdun which was run by a person who had in the past been involved with Panlegis.

Panlegis is calling on its former employees to respect the terms of their contracts and their confidentiality obligations and to be aware of their liability at law and for penalties and damages.
