This year's edition of the International Fireworks Festival passed the half-way stage last night with a spectacle in Bugibba.

The festival started in Marsaxlokk on Friday and reaches its finale at Grand Harbour on Wednesday night (from 9pm) during festivities marking the 10th anniversary of Malta's accession to the EU.

Organised by the Malta Tourism Authority, the festival features participants from Australia, Canada, Venezuela, Italy, Austria, Spain, Poland  and Malta.
