Recently, I attended a crowded seated event inside the Ta’ Qali tent.

I could not help thinking about the fire hazards: all those plastic seats, the carpets and the tent itself would turn into a ball of fire and emit toxic fumes in a matter of minutes or even seconds.

Thus, I scoured the place visually for any sprinklers or fire extinguishers and, to my amazement, I could only see hundreds of electric cables (prone to electric sparks) running about the frame of the huge structure but no sprinklers or any fire deterrent.

I had to go down the whole isle and walk towards the bar to locate the first fire exit marked in green. In an emergency, that was too far from the seating arena.

If fire extinguishers or hoses are in place I certainly could not see them, though I am sure sprinklers were absent.

I think many would appreciate if someone in authority would be kind enough to inform us that all safety standards are met and explain what equipment one should expect in this arena, especially considering the materials in use there.
