A fire broke out today in a section of a private hospital under construction in Amman and spread throughout the building.
Police said an electrical fault caused the massive blaze in the Farah Hospital, which sent huge plumes of smoke into the sky and caused traffic gridlock across the Jordanian capital as fire engines rushed to the scene.
No casualties have been reported.
It took civil defence brigades several hours to get the flames under control.
Farah Hospital is one of the leading private hospitals in Jordan, which has become a regional medical hub in recent years.
