Players from the Table Tennis Nursery showed marked improvement in the development of their skills at the last junior ranking tournament organised by the Malta Table Tennis Association.

Daniel Said reached the final of the U-13 category while Jurgan Sammut was only eliminated at the semi-final stage of the same group. Adam Zouari was the plate event winner in the U-18 and Jessica Pace, the only girl who participated in this category, reached the final.

In the U-15 group, satisfactory results were obtained by David Grima, Ryan Cachia, Michaela Scerri and Karl Wismayer. Prior to this junior ranking tournament, Pace travelled to Palermo where she played for her team Pol Liotro. They beat Pol Sporting 3-2 and ASD Etneo 5-0.

Against ASD Etneo, Pace overcame Laura Mangia and Sonia Ivone 3-1 3-1 and, together with her doubles partner, she also secured the doubles match 3-0.

In a statement, the Table Tennis Nursery said that the overall standard at cadet and junior level in Malta is rising and new faces and talents are becoming more frequent.
