FinanceMalta's investment in new SEO software aimed at improving its website's ranking in search engine results has paid off, the organisation said, and there has been a notable increase in hits recorded from China.

Kenneth Farrugia, chairman of FinanceMalta, said: "These results are a clear confirmation that the visibility of Malta as an international financial services jurisdiction is gaining momentum. What is pleasing, too, is that the new FinanceMalta website is also gaining in both visibility and geographic reach."

A statement by FinanceMalta said it is in the process of actively seeking to leverage technology to promote Malta's financial services brand. "This was highlighted by the successful organisation of a webinar aimed at the US market and held earlier this year. A successful webcast was also organised in May. Other similar initiatives are being organised throughout the course of this year.

To sustain the global presence of the new website, a number of new banner advertising campaigns are scheduled for launch by FinanceMalta to appear on the websites of leading financial service providers over the next few months. FinanceMalta continually encourages key players and practitioners in the financial services industry to contribute through leadership articles to the site to build a higher profile of the island's banking, investment and insurance industries as well as the sector's well respected regulatory framework.
