An introductory course to film-making will be held between Tuesday and March 18, organised by AEGEE-Valletta and Comma.

The course will consist of five sessions on lighting and photography, script-writing, filming, and two sessions on editing, delivered by professional lecturers. All sessions, except for that on script-writing, will be held at the University studio.

The course fee is €20 for all sessions, or €5 payable per session. The fee is fully smart card refundable.

Following the course, participants aged between 16 and 30 will be encouraged to create their own short film and submit it to take part in a short film festival to be held on April 29. Participation is not subject to having attended the course.

The films submitted have to be between two and 10 minutes long, and may be submitted by groups of up to five people. All films must be submitted between April 18 and 22.

During the short film festival the films submitted will be screened before an audience as well as a panel of judges.

This will be followed by a reception where the winner will be announced and awarded a €200 prize.

A small entrance fee to the film festival will be charged, which will include the screening, free-flowing wine, and finger food. The venue will be announced shortly.
