A filigree Maltese clock crafted in 500 grams of silver thread is the main attraction at the Sterling exhibition that opened yesterday at the Casino Maltese, in Valletta.

It took two craftsmen from the Sterling workshop two months to finish this masterpiece, Sterling chairman Alfred Fenech said.

"Every year we showcase the latest collections from our leading designer brands and a unique item that represents our heritage and craftsmanship - the clock is an impressive work of art with extensive filigree," he said.

The noble surroundings of the Casino Maltese lend themselves well to showcasing Sterling's latest collections for Sterling Diamonds, Sterling Jewellers and e-Jewels.

The exhibition is set up across four halls. The latest collections from Pasquale Bruni, Salvini and The Sterling Diamonds collection can be viewed at the Sterling Diamond room.

"Visitors can view our latest jewellery and watches as well as our certified diamonds. Diamonds have always been one of the best investments - these precious stones keep their value over time," Mr Fenech added.

A separate room has been dedicated to the premium brand Bulgari where the collections of fine jewellery and timepieces are exhibited.

The Gucci jewellery collections in gold and silver are a new addition to Sterling Jewellers, while e-Jewels sees the addition of DKNY jewellery and the Police brand.

At the Designer Lounge, visitors can browse through a large selection of designer jewellery and watches, including the new Casato brand, Tissot, Gucci, Versace, Calgaro and Nanis. Visitors can find Emporio Armani, Guess, and Calvin Klein, among many others, at the e-Jewels Lounge.

The exhibition runs until Sunday and will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
