Chinese farmers fixing a water pump at a well in eastern China, where a record drought threatens to push global food prices up. The Chinese government has allocated 13 billion yuan ($2 billion) to combat the drought and the central bank announced this week it would allocate 10 billion yuan in loans to farmers.
