A Bangladeshi businessman was the fifth person to be charged in court after a fight between neighbours of a Paceville block of flats on Tuesday evening.

Kazusa Fazlo, 22, was accused of having seriously injured his Libyan neighbour, Wadea Al Maghrbi, who was conditionally discharged on Wednesday after pleading guilty to punching the Bangladeshi in the face during a fight in the common area of an apartment block in Ball Street.

Another three Bangladeshi men, who all work in the same restaurant, were also charged over the same incident on Wednesday.

They are out on bail.

Mohammed Saiful Islam, 27, Sayed Mattubber, 23, and Hannan Abdul, 29, pleaded not guilty to injuring Mr Al Maghrbi, threatening to harm him and breaching the peace. Mr Al Maghrbi suffered an injury to his hand when a knife was snatched from him.

Mr Fazlo pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

Magistrate Neville Camilleri granted him bail against a €250 deposit and a €1,000 personal guarantee. Lawyer Mario Spiteri represented Mr Fazlo.
