On his way back to the Italian capital after his visit to Malta, Pope Benedict XVI cut a cake marking his fifth year as the Bishop of Rome. The cake was presented to him by the crew of Air Malta flight KM1950. The flight designation was chosen to mark the 1950th anniversary of St Paul's shipwreck in Malta. KM1950 was the national airline's third Pontifical flight.
