Having made its international public debut at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in March, the new Fiat 500 Cabrio, a convertible version of the iconic Fiat 500, is on sale in Malta.

The Fiat 500 Cabrio was launched during an event to announce the programme of a Fiat 500 Raduno on June 19 and the First Manikata Hillclimb race on June 20, which is being organised by Malta Motorsport Federation with the collaboration of Island Car Club together with the support of the Mellieha local council and Club FIAT 500 Modica.

Addressing the launch, Vincent Sladden, general manager of UCIM Co Ltd said: "Fiat will never forget that it has a history and is a company that has always paid due respect to the models that were the foundations of what the brand is today.

"The Fiat 500 Cabrio is the latest from Fiat to pay respect to the first 1957 Fiat 500 which back then was already sporting its unmistakably recognisable retractable roof. The redesigned edition of the Fiat 500 C goes to confirm that this model will always be the car that will be an Italian icon."
