Serie B1 side ASD Fiaccola notched an important 5-3 win over Libertas Sassari last weekend to move up to joint-second in the standings along with APD G. Castello.

Daniel Bajada again figured prominently for Fiaccola. The 17-year-old, ranked no.219, started off with a 1-3 upset to Tonino Pinna, ranked no. 151. However, the Malta champion bounced back immediately to chalk up two key victories after beating no.224 Luigi Contu Mattia, 3-2, and no. 209 Riccardo Lisci, 3-0.

Fiaccola’s next match is against direct rivals G. Castello in early May. The winner of this match is likely to join the promotion race via the play-offs since ASD Norbello have already assured themselves of promotion to Serie A2, having won all their 12 matches so far.
