A man who was allegedly stabbed by his partner on Christmas Day was arraigned in court today and accused of having injured her in a previous incident, on December 17.

He pleaded not guilty.

Sean Grima, 26 of Fgura, also pleaded not guilty to having held Alicia Spiteri against her will and threatened her on Christmas Day - when he was stabbed.

He also denied being in illegal possession of a knife, possessing cannabis and cocaine, and relapsing.

He was remanded in custody.

Ms Spiteri was not charged, with sources saying she is being considered to have acted in self-defence.
