The Għaqda Mużikali San Girgor of Kerċem will be holding the second edition of Festubru at Lunzjata Valley between Friday and Sunday.

The three-day festival will open with guided tours for schoolchildren on Friday. In the evening, there will be a traditional tverna – the popular meeting place of locals, with food and wine accompanied by folk music.

A group of Gozitan poets and authors will share their literature and prose experience.

On Saturday, an informative tour around the Lunzjata valley will be held. At sunset the valley will be lit with hundreds of fjakkli, followed by a re-enactment, including a military parade.

The Centre Stage Academy will present a spectacle of dance and music, followed by folk dancing by the Astra Folk Group and folk singing.

On Sunday, the traditional game Il-Brilli will be held, followed by an activity by Vers Agħtini. At noon, a traditional lunch will be served.

In the afternoon, a birds of prey show will be held. The festival will end with folk dancing and music.

Other activities will include an exhibition of animals and farming tools, Gozitan cheeslets and wool weaving.

The Lunzjata chapel will be open throughout the three days and Mass will be said.
