Old Maltese lira, cent and mil coins, which ceased to be legal tender after January 31, 2008, will not be exchangeable after next February 1, the Central Bank said.

Until then, the coins can be exchanged only at the Central Bank of Malta Annexe, St James's Counterguard, Valletta, from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Central Bank of Malta will continue to exchange Maltese lira banknotes until January 31, 2018.
