On Father's Day, a Medal of Honour should go to the young driver of the white car (last Wednesday at 6.15 p.m.) who, after making a dangerous manoeuvre at a blind corner, stopped at an intersection (from Qormi, past Derek leading onto the by-pass opposite Flamingo), removed his seatbelt, leaned over to grab an unrestrained two-year-old from the back seat, placed the infant on his lap and sped off.

The only consolation; approval of the young lady in the front passenger seat (possible nominee for Mother's Day's Medal of Honour) and the car may have been too old to have a driver's airbag.

Either way, the infant's death or serious injury was guaranteed even in a minor accident. Unbelievable!
