Thirty-two local and international designers will take part in this year’s edition of Malta Fashion Week, to open on Saturday in Valletta.

The fifth annual week dedicated to fashion will come to an end on May 16 with the Chamilia Fashion Awards at the Shipbuilding Warehouse, in Marsa.

The Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week, organised in collaboration with the Valletta 2018 Foundation, will showcase some of Malta’s best talent in the fashion industry – from fashion designers to catwalk models, stylists and make-up artists, photographers, bloggers, writers and other fashionistas.

Foundation chairman Jason Micallef and Fashion Week executive producer Adrian J. Mizzi said venues would include the Upper Barrakka Lift at Lascaris Wharf, Ordnance Street, The Palace, Palazzo de La Salle, the Mediterranean Conference Centre and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry – all in Valletta.

Mr Mizzi said last year’s event was featured in over 40 international newspapers and websites.

Interest from journalists, bloggers and photographers as well as designers had grown this year and the foreign media would include the worldwide fashion television channel Fashion TV.

All Malta Fashion Week events are free of charge and tickets for the Malta Fashion Awards start at €10. Visit fashionweek.com.mt for more information.
