An application by Farsons for a full development permit for the building of a new brew house sailed through a Mepa board meeting today.

The board unanimously approved the application for the €14 million project which also includes a water treatment plant.

The brew house will be built alongside the existing one on the Farsons grounds in Mriehel. It follows other recent projects by the company, including a soft drinks packaging hall, a distribution centre and a logistics centre, completed late in 2008.

The development permit includes a number of conditions, many of them safeguards over emissions into the air and the sewerage system.
