Golden Travel Club Limited, operator of Fantasy Tours, has declared that it is not in a financial position to compensate clients for the amounts they are claiming after their holidays were cancelled.

In an official reply to a judicial letter by a group of clients, the company’s owners said they had nothing to hide and had filed a court case for dissolution on the basis of bankruptcy.

The clients had filed their letter against shareholder and director Karl Azzopardi, as well as Audrey and Emma Azzopardi.

In their reply, the shareholders/directors said they were not personally responsible for the debts incurred by Golden Travel Club Limited and that there were no judicial relationships between them and the clients.

They said Fantasy Tours Limited has not operated since 2005 and the fact that the name  was similar to Fantasy Tours, operated by Golden Travel Club Limited did not make this company liable for debts incurred by the latter firm.

The responsibility for the refunds fell squarely on Golden Travel Club Limited and no one else. In view of its financial situation there was a pending case for bankruptcy.

They held the clients “personally and individually responsible” for damages they could suffer as a result of their legal action “with no legal basis” and called on them to desist from taking it any further.

The clients were invited to follow the bankruptcy proceedings and make any request through the administrators who are due to be appointed by the court as part of this case.
