Labour leadership contender Michael Falzon today denied that he is bowing out of the leadership race.

He also denied any knowledge of procedures before the party Vigilance Board over his reaction to the report on the MLP election defeat. He said he had not been notified of anything.

Dr Falzon issued the denials in reply to what he described as "malicious" rumours being made against him.

He pointed out that he had given his reaction to the election report after seeking and receiving the go-ahead of the MLP executive committee.

Dr Falzon noted that the acting leader of the party and the party president had also reacted to the report.
