After many years of creating and refining their music, Falcon’s Flying Circus will be launching their debut, self-titled album on Saturday at Zion, Marsaskala. The band will be playing an hour and a half set after opening act Fuzzhoneys.

Although many of the songs from the album have been performed at their shows over the past few years, the album has never been played in its entirety which makes this an important night for the band and a real treat for lovers of the genre and those who appreciate their style of music.

While the songs share a common thread linking them together to make up the album, each song could be considered as quite unique from the rest, due to the introduction of different instruments such as trumpet, violin, flute , classical guitar and different elements of percussion.

The album reflects the members’ different influences, and after recording and refining the album last year, the band will be proud to present the completed work on the night. Bearing in mind that all the songs have been written over a number of years, the group have always held true to the notion of musical and lyrical balance, with different themes to different songs. The album, which is being released on Reciprocal Records, will be available for sale during the event.

Vocalist David Aquilina and guitarist Kurt Micallef, the original members who have remained since the band’s formation in 2005; bassist Peter Gauci (joined in 2006); and Spike Refalo (who joined in 2011) form a quartet that is worth watching. The CD can be pre-ordered from http://www.reciprocalrecords.com/release/ffc1.html .
