A group of people packing goods to take to Kenya for missionary work has turned to Facebook to ask for more luggage – and the social media appeal worked within hours.

Local NGO Mzungu Mission was looking for ways to transport clothes, medicine and food for the children at the mission but has managed to collect all the bags it needed.

The group of friends have been spending a few weeks every year doing voluntary work, and have so far been to Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya.

This year they will return to Kenya and although they have already been overwhelmed by generous donations of items, they are still hoping to get more medicines to take along.

During their three week stay, they will be refurbishing buildings, including a clinic and a classroom, for the community in Wema.
