FESTA MUZIKA – La Fête de la Musique will be held in Valletta on Tuesday June 21 to celebrate he longest day of the of the year through music, turning it  into the longest  night of music and dance.

The event is being organised by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Tourism,  the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, the Malta Tourism Authority and the French Embassy.

The bands will be performing on a main at upper Merchants Street (by the Auberge D'Italie). There will be a variety of musical genres, with performances starting from 6.30 p.m.

The day chosen for the Maltese Fete De La Musique coincides with similar festivals all over the world. This annual event which originated in France in 1981 has now been exported to all Francophone countries and beyond.

The festival will have both local and foreign performing artistes including Matthieu Chédid who is a well known multi-instrumentalist, and has a great following in France.

Other performers will include Ira Losco, Xirka Rock, Mark Spiteri Lucas and his band and Chris and Moira.
