Pieta' Hotspurs 0 Qormi FC 1

Substitute Caio Suguino Garcia's scored a dramatic winner 30 seconds from the end of extra-time to send Qormi through to the FA Trophy semi-finals.

It was a game with desperately few chances. Qormi have seldom played with so little flair. Qormi had trouble making a breakthrough, since the Hotspurs without their Brazilian duo Vinicius Pereira Dos Santos and Ezequiel Giaccaglia, were stubborn in an identical 4-1-4-1. Qormi attacked but there was little precision in front of goal.

Jorginho was the frontrunner but did not make his presence felt when collecting Joseph Farrugia, sending his finish straight into Miguel Montfort after 28 minutes.

Hotspurs' Jonathan Bilbao Zarate whipped a delicious attempt centimeters wide right of goal after 35 minutes.

Pieta' began the second period in the same aggressive fashion and Terence Agius tested Matthew Farrugia with two successive efforts in the 54th minute.

Two minutes later, Jorginho did show urgency when cutting in from the left before shooting into Montfort. On the hour stroke, the Brazilian had been wasteful when sending a shot soaring over the bar.

Pieta's focus was largely on containing their opponents but that was being done only with difficulty as the second-half developed.

In the 79th minute when Farrugia's thunderbolt from just outside the area crashed against the crossbar and the match had to go into extra-time.

In the 103rd minute, the Yellows finally masterminded a flash of brilliance. Wellman chipped the ball towards the centre of the penalty area and Jorginho finished the move with an acrobatic scissor kick that Montfort pushed away for a corner.

Qormi took heart from this move and Montfort had to be on his guard when Jorginho tested the former Malta U21 goalkeeper with another fierce shot after being set-up by Farrugia's header.

And in the 120th minute, Qormi scored the goal that mattered. Jonathan Bondin sent in an inviting cross towards the centre and Caio Suiguino Garcia was at hand to drive the ball home past Montefort.

Pieta' tried to force an equaliser but substitute Cain Attard attempted a lob over onrushing goalkeeper went wide of the target but it was too little too late.
