A line-up of local and international experts has been scheduled for the Malta Institute of Management’s sixth International Taxation Conference at the Westin Dragonara Resort tomorrow, which this year focuses on the latest developments in European tax law. Conference chair Juanita Brockdorff, tax partner at KPMG, points out: “Over the past years we have been able to attract to Malta the best minds in international taxation.”

Finance Minister Tonio Fenech will make an introductory address after which Pasquale Pistone, Professor of Tax Law at the University of Salerno, will give a presentation on tax governance.

There will be presentations by Frans Sonneveldt from Leiden University, PwC tax partner Neville Gatt, Daniel Gutmann, Professor of Tax Law at the University of Paris, Conrad Cassar Torreggiani, Leader International Tax from Deloitte, KPMG advisor Simon Xuereb, and Luís Eduardo Schoueri from the University of Sào Paolo.

Robert Attard, director, tax services, Ernst & Young, Michael Lang from the Vienna University, Paolo Arginelli from the Università Cattolica of Piacenza, and Laurent Sykes of Gray’s Inn Tax Chambers will participate in the afternoon session.Charles Mangion, main spokesman for Financial Services for the Labour Party, will give concluding remarks.
