The La Valette band club executed another wonderful concert as part of their activities for Good Friday. The concert, held in the Jesuits Church on March 17, was the first to be conducted by their new director Mro Dominic Darmanin.

The La Valette band gave an excellent rendering of the classical Rememberance by Garofalo and Adagio by Tommaso. Alibinoni. The band also played some modern music by Ennio Morricone and others. The piece written by assistant director James Chappell was an excellent piece of classical music. The sax soloist Christine Vella was really excellent as were other soloists. Tenor Brian Cefai and singer Charlene Vella were a very interesting addition.

The band's president Ray Bondin rightly said that the band is reaching an excellent level of execution, much higher than what is expected of a band. The transition from the almost 40 years directorship of Mro Joseph Sammut has been handled very smoothly and the band has continued to live up to its excellent reputation.
