Civil servants who failed the civil service examinations are to be given the opportunity of a resit, the government said.

It was announced earlier this month that court action is being taken against at least one person following changes in the markings of the exam for executive officers in the civil service.

In a statement this afternoon the government said the resit was being held because of the irregularities in the January examination. The  irregularities are being investigated by the police.

The applications for the resits will open on Wednesday and would be available on the Examinations Department website.
