This dilapidated and dangerous structure has been in this highly precarious state for many, many years.

The problem is further amplified because this monstrosity is situated at Għajn Tuffieha which happens to be one of the most popular spots in Malta.

Thousands of visitors flock to this picturesque beach every year, both locals and tourists alike.

Besides being a terrible eyesore, this pile of rubble also poses a major health hazard to the public.

Does Mepa, the Environment Ministry, the Health and Safety Office or any other department within the government have any authority to instruct the owners of this "building" to either rebuild the hotel or to at least remove the pile of stones and make the area safe for us all?

I beg to ask another question.

Is the slope, upon which a lot of the bricks and concrete slabs have fallen, private land or does it belong to the public? If the answer to either or both of the above questions is in the affirmative, I have another question.

When is action going to be taken by the responsible Ministry to ensure that this dangerous situation is eradicated by instructing the owners of this tumbledown, crumbling "building" to render the area safe to the public... when some unsuspecting person or persons get maimed or killed?
