• The National Council of Women is holding a talk on ‘Contributory pensions’ on Wednesday from 9.30 to 11am at its premises in Blata l-Bajda. Contributory bene­fits director at the Department of Social Security Edward Buttigieg will be the speaker.

• The Junior Club of Our Lady of the Lily Band Club of Mqabba is organising a children’s activity on Thursday at a farmhouse in the limits of Qrendi. • A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held on Saturday at 9pm at Lija parish church, starting with Mass, followed by adoration until 11pm.

• A music and literature activi­ty entitled Lejla għall-Eroj will be held tomorrow at 7.30pm at Ġnien l-Għannejja Żwieten (St Gregory’s Gardens), St Thomas Bay Road, Żejtun. It is being organised by Żejtun local council in collaboration with Żejtun Organisation to Empower You (Żoey) to mark Jum L-Eroj Żwieten. The event will include singing by various għannejja (traditional Maltese singers) such as Żeppi Spagnol, accompanied by guitarists, reading of Maltese literature by members of the Żejtun Literature Group and a wine competition.

• An end-of-year exhibition showcasing the talents of students at Mcast’s Institute for the Creative Arts is being held at the institute in Tarġa Gap, Mosta, until Tuesday.

The creative works involve the disciplines of fine arts, graphic design, photography, 3D design, interactive media, media and gaming. Exhibits range from two-dimensional paintings, photography and artworks to 3D projects in various materials and finishes, professional graphic design and visual work, video and sound installations.

The exhibition spaces were also designed and built by the students under the guidance of lecturers and support staff.The exhibition is open to the public today from 2 to 8pm and tomorrow and Tuesday from 9am to 6pm.
